Department Description:


HP BIO - Technology Services - our team is dedicated to managing membership administration activities for employers, brokers, and individuals, ensuring seamless and efficient health plan experiences for all our valued stakeholders.



Intern Project(s):


As an intern in the Health Plan Division at Kaiser Permanente, you will have the opportunity to work on an exciting project that involves developing Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) using React as the user interface framework. The goal of this project is to create scalable, efficient, and user-friendly web applications that provide seamless experiences for our members, employers, and brokers.


Project Objectives:
•    Design and develop PWAs using React, ensuring responsiveness, accessibility, and compatibility across various devices and browsers.
•    Leverage existing services and APIs to integrate with the PWA, providing a cohesive and streamlined experience for users.
•    Collaborate with the development team to identify and prioritize features, ensuring alignment with business requirements and user needs.
•    Implement best practices for PWA development, including service workers, caching, and offline support.
•    Conduct testing and debugging to ensure the PWA meets the required standards for performance, security, and usability.

Target Skills:


•    Exposure and Knowledge in using React and JavaScript
•    Exposure with Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) and their core features
•    Familiarity with existing services and APIs (e.g., RESTful APIs, Postgres DB)
•    Knowledge of modern front-end development tools and libraries (e.g., Webpack, Babel)
•    Understanding of responsive design principles and accessibility guidelines

  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
