Location: Flexible - onsite in Pleasanton, CA, once a week at a minimum..
Department Description: The IT Finance Summer Intern will join a team of six financial analysts that support the Cloud and Infrastructure Services Organization (CIS), specifically focusing on two groups: IT Resiliency Services and Vendor Management. During their time with us, the intern will assist with financial tasks related to month-end close, forecasting, and budgeting processes. They will be supported by the Finance Director and analysts on the IT Finance team.
For the IT Resiliency Services group, which aims to safeguard Kaiser Permanente’s technology, data, people, and processes from incidents to crises, the intern will handle financial support for an annual budget of $8.2M and 21 FTEs. They will also have opportunities to present financial outcomes to the Executive Director and work on ad-hoc reporting.
In Vendor Management Services, which oversees over 230 contracts and $150M in annual spend, the intern will also support month-end close, forecasting, and budgeting processes. Additionally, they will work on a project to help the CTO create a comprehensive database of contracts to enhance forecasting accuracy and ensure timely renewals.
Overall, our intern will gain valuable experience while significantly contributing to our finance team.

Target Majors:Finance & Accounting, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration
Target Skills: We are looking for an intern with skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The role involves modeling and analyzing financial data. Candidates must work well in teams, quickly learn IT Finance processes, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
