Department Description:
The Care Transformation Telehealth and Technology Integration team is responsible for a broad portfolio of work with impacts across the organization. The Telehealth team is responsible for ensuring the success of our video visit program and telephony work while standing up emerging technologies that support clinician documentation and wellness. The Technology Integration team is responsible for a variety of projects related to improving the clinician and member experience, identifying opportunities for efficiencies, and training related to the opening of Next Gen medical office buildings.
Project Description:
The Regional Care Transformation Operations Intern will gain broad exposure to a variety of important projects that impact our clinicians and members. The intern will assist in the project planning phases to open new Next Generation Medical Office Buildings and/or remodel existing spaces with the latest technology. During the implementation phase, there will be opportunities to observe and contribute to the training of local staff and physicians and assist with mock simulations. Additionally, the intern will support regional Telehealth Operations with opportunities to help increase the volume and success rate of video visits in Southern California. They will assist with creation of presentations, job aids, and other materials to ensure that our physicians and members have the necessary information for successful video visits. This internship sits at the crossroads of many local, regional, and national projects and provides the intern with the chance to evaluate where they envision working within Kaiser Permanente or another large healthcare system.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for contributing high level analytical support to a project or department requiring application of knowledge in marketing, information management, finance, management, economics or statistics.
- This position contributes to a full range of project components.
- Assigned to at least one project and expected to produce results and report out as a member of a project team.
- Organizes assigned project tasks, identifies and structures information collection activities, and sets timelines for completion of required tasks as directed.
- Develops tools to identify and to document best practices.
- Prepares various excel, word or PowerPoint reports, and works with access database software (or similar tool) to develop data extracts and management information reports.
- May be asked to produce graphic information using excel or PowerPoint or similar software.
- Contributes to development of management information and analysis conducted, provides recommendations and assists with preparation of formal presentations to communicate results to various management levels. Identifies alternative solutions to project issues.
- Contributes to development project plans to ensure timely deliverables and successful completion of project and demonstrates an understanding of various business intersections.
- Assists with identification and development of training information.

- Bachelor's degree required.
- Enrolled in or recent graduate of an MBA or other master's level program with an accredited college or university.

- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to utilize at a working level Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/ Management Partnership environment.
- Knowledge of SQL or SAS highly desirable.
