Description:
Job Summary:

Exercises high degree of independent judgment in preparing a large volume of product in a complex, fast-paced production environment. Prepares conventional & convenience type foods following established procedures for patients, cafeteria & catering. Cooks food to order on the cafeteria grill; rethermalizes food for the cafeteria consumption; & performs other related functions.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Prepares conventional and convenience type food from recipes
- Prepares entrees, sauces, soups, gravies and cooks food from quantity recipes and production orders
- Cooks food to order such as hamburgers, eggs and grilled cheese sandwiches on the cafeteria grill during a designated meal period and according to a predetermined menu
- Serves food to cafeteria patrons in according with established serving procedures
- Delivers requested items to physicians dinning room
- Refrigerates, wraps and dates food as required
- Portions vegetables and reconstitutes and portions starch items for patients and cafeteria and catering
- Maintains cleanliness of assigned work area and related equipment
- May perform duties of Dietary Aide and Storeroom Worker as required
- Performs other related duties as required
- Promotes, ensures, and improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent with the organizations philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations and quality service
Basic Qualifications:

Experience

• One (1) year of experience as a cook required
• Ability to work from, reduce & expand recipes
• Able to use standard food service equipment
• Must be able to fry, grill, roast, and prepare sauces, soups & gravies
• Ability to lift & manipulate food & supply containers up to 40lbs


Education


  • • Culinary Arts degree or equivalent experience required


License, Certification, Registration


  • Food Handler Certificate (California)

This position requires mandatory travel 50% of the time between Fontana and Ontario medical Centers.
