2025 Summer Internship Program



Location:


This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, GA, MD, VA, CT, DC, or IL.



Department Description:


Our department is responsible for overseeing hospital operations across the enterprise. We also are in charge of workplace safety and care without delay. Some of the major initiatives we focus on include emergency preparedness, addressing labor shortages, optimizing hospital operations, and improving utilization. 



Intern Project(s):


Assist in the development and implementation of workplace safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for staff and patients.
Support initiatives aimed at optimizing hospital operations and improving utilization of resources.
Conduct data analysis to identify trends, generate insights, and support decision-making processes.
Participate in emergency preparedness planning and execution to ensure readiness for various scenarios.
Contribute to the creation of reports, presentations, and documentation related to hospital operations and safety initiatives.
Engage in cross-functional projects and collaborate with various departments to achieve organizational goals.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for healthcare operations and a commitment to improving patient care and safety.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.

  • Report development and analytics.

  • Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.

  • Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.

  • Job shadowing in other functional areas.

  • Performing additional duties as required.

  • Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • 3.0 GPA or above

  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
