Description:
Assists investigators and performs variety of preliminary screening, recruitment, research, analysis and other research tasks related to research programs. Assists in managing and coordinating research projects. Recruits and schedules patient screening, interviews and testing of study subjects. Understands research design and development of tools and processes. Knowledgeable in development of study forms for data collection and adjustment of literacy levels on consent and intake forms. Assists in project assessment and evaluation development and reporting. Performs data-entry, record and file maintenance activities for projects. Prepares reports, presentations, and correspondence related to projects.
Job Summary:

Essential Responsibilities:
- Performs patient recruiting, screening, interviews, and testing accurately with tact and courtesy and in manner that exhibits an understanding of needs of study participants and their families. Follows all research protocols for data collection and quality control.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge/skills in epidemiology, biostatistics and health education. Assists in development of study design, tools and processes, such as forms for data collection and performance of adjustment of literacy levels on consent forms, intake forms, and letters.
- Prepares reports and presentations and writes correspondence to cohort members.
- Assists in project assessment and evaluation development and reporting.
- Assists in managing and coordinating research projects.
- Identifies and resolves data quality issues or errors. Maintains data integrity. Prepares and cleans data prior to analysis.
- Understands and maintains current knowledge of legislation regarding human subjects protection, confidentiality and patient privacy. Adjusts patient recruitment and study processes as needed to ensure compliance.
- Maintains current knowledge in field as it applies to assigned research study.
- Functions as team member in planning and conducting presentations.
- Keeps abreast of all assigned project activities. Attends and participates in staff meetings and training sessions. Recognizes and reports any problems affecting research protocol to Project Coordinator.
- Clinical functions as appropriate to study needs, training, education or licensure, and as deemed competent.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum six (6) months of research related interviewing/recruitment experience.
Education
- Bachelors degree in social sciences or health related fields, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
License, Certification, Registration
- Driver's License (from any state) required at hire
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of form and style for research reporting.
- Basic knowledge of scientific research methods/procedures.
- Familiarity with preparation of scientific reports and data entry requirements of examination findings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in following complex oral and written instructions, multi-tasking with accuracy, oral communication, written communication, customer service, and interpersonal relations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications.
- Auto insurance, and vehicle available for full-time business use.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Kaiser Mainframe (PCR/PINQ/Lotus Notes).
- Phlebotomy or related experience working in clinical laboratory setting.
- Masters degree in public health, social work, psychology counseling, or social sciences, OR six (6) years of experience in research.
- Working knowledge of Kaiser medical records systems and processes, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and diagnostic examinations, ICD-9 CM and CPT4 coding systems, UHDDS definitions, and related documentation systems.
- Understanding of current methods of diagnosis and treatment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in recruitment and interviewing techniques related to study of research cohort group in a clinic setting, preparation of scientific reports and data entry requirements of examination findings, and specimen processing.

Pay Range: $62100 - $80300 / year
