Description:
Job Summary:

Supervises assigned staff and activity of Lift Team Services and directs efficient internal delivery of material, patients, and supplies within Medical Center.  Maximizes productivity and prioritization of lift and transport request.  Develops, implements, and monitors quality assurance program.  Analyzes records, data, trends, and feedack from Nursing Administration and other departments to meet quality assurance service goals on ongoing basis.  Serves as role model, demonstrates compliance and Principles of Responsibility, maintains confidentiality, protects organizational assets, exhibits ethics and integrity, adheres to applicable federal and state laws and regulations, accreditation and licensing requirements, policies and procedures.  Reports and/or resolves issures of non-compliance.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Monitors and directs activity of lift technicians in hospital, assuring services are available to members needing assistance.

  • Develops and assigns specific and ongoing work schedules. Assures adequate staffing. Evaluates needs and sets priorities for work to be performed.

  • Establishes job standards for and monitors activities of assigned staff to assure accuracy and compliance with established standards and procedures. Corrects deficiencies in work procedures.

  • Investigates, assists with and involves problems concerning transportation service.

  • Establishes process for and monitors cleaning of all transport equipment )eg., wheelchiars and gurneys);  Identifies transport / lift equiptment needs and submits rquisitions/recommendations for purchase.  Reports equipment needs and safety hazards.  Maintains equipment preventive maintenance.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with varous indviduals and departments to keep abreast of user needs and changing requirements.  Assigns staff to critcal areas to avoid divert sitations as needed.

  • Assist other Environmental Services Supervisor(s) and Director(s) as needed.

  • Attends  meetings as requested offering input regarding Lift Team operations.

  • Assures adequate inventory of supplies and prudent use of same.

  • Hires, trains, supervises, counsels, disciplines, and terminates assigned staff as appropriate.

  • Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff.

  • Performs other duties and accepts responsibility as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience


  • Minimum of two (2) years of Lift Tech/Transport experience in healthcare setting.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in business administration or related field; or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Driver's License (Hawaii)
  • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in decision making, customer service, oral communication, written communication, problem solving, quality management, results orientation, and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory/lead or project management experience.
